Unit-in-Place Method

A method of cost estimating in which the costs of individual structural components (foundations, walls, roof, etc.) are specified in appropriate unit measurements (area, volume, length), multiplied by the estimated quantity of structural components contained within a particular structure, and summed to obtain an estimate of the cost of the entire structure.
